PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The search continues for a suspect after a man was shot and killed in North Philadelphia six months ago.

"It's real hard to, it's a big pill to swallow," says Jetson Cruz Sr.

It was nearly 7:30 p.m. on Saturday February 7th, when 26-year-old Jetson Cruz Jr. was shot and killed.

He was at a park on the 3200 block of North Howard Street with a cousin and a nephew when someone opened fire.

Cruz suffered a gunshot wound to the head and died about 15 minutes later.

"I can't speak too much about him, because I just break down," says Cruz Sr.

His father tells action news that Cruz was a father to a newborn at the time of the shooting.

He was also working with kids across the country to help them avoid a life of crime.

"How is it from him doing that, he falls in the hand of the same thing that he was trying to help out for other kids. I know it's not going to bring him back, but at least it will give me some type of little peace in my mind and my heart to just know why," says Cruz Sr.

The City of Philadelphia is offering a $20,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.

If you have any information, you're urged to call the Citizens Crime Commission at 215-546-TIPS.
