SEPTA to bring back express trains, reopen trolley tunnel after months of repairs

Sunday, January 11, 2026
PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Good news for SEPTA riders.

Starting Monday morning, express trains are back on Regional Rail after months off the tracks.

SEPTA is also putting more Silverliner IV cars back in service after federal inspections.

Additionally, after months of repairs, the T-Trolley tunnel in Center City reopens Monday.

It has been closed since November.

The project was delayed when a new part caused further damage.

SEPTA warns some closures will continue as crews replace overhead wires.

Riders should double-check all schedules before heading out.
