Linda Satterfield is a co-founder of Royce's Rescue where horses and cats are housed.
She says, "They have a nice situation to live in and they're not confined to anything that's way too small for a horse."
The rescue has saved more than 30 horses since opening in 2006.
Mocha is included in that number. He is a racing horse that was left in bad shape. He's been adopted and the new owner uses him for riding.
Satterfield says, "They want to work. They want a job. It's healthier for them."
Lacy is looking for someone to work for. She has fully recuperated after being rescued and hopes to live out a healthy life with her adopted family.

"It's just unbelievable to find a family that's willing to take in this animal. It's very rewarding to us," said Satterfield.
The rescue has also saved more than 700 cats over the past nine years, like 1-year-old Dusty.
"Somebody had dumped him and he kept crying to everybody's home, but he's an absolute sweetheart. He just needs a really good home," said volunteer Colleen Harrison.
Dusty's been looking for a home for months, but this time of year he's overshadowed.
"Older cats tend to have to take a backseat to the kittens," said Harrison.
Three kittens were rescued and bottle fed by the Royce's Rescue team.
Harrison says, "They're just like a baby, but the results are darling kitties.
Stella was rescued during her pregnancy and now she's a loving mom, with three kittens nursing their way to health.
The kittens will be ready for adoption in three weeks and so will Stella.
"She's a very good mom," says Harrison.
And finally, beauties Buffy and Girl are sisters. They are playful little kittens who have plenty of love to give and lots of energy to burn.
