According to the Washington Township Police Department, officers responded to Tara Drive at approximately 9:42 p.m. Saturday after receiving a report that a vehicle had been intentionally set on fire.
The vehicle owner witnessed the incident through home surveillance cameras, which captured a male suspect smashing the rear window of a parked vehicle, pouring a flammable liquid inside and setting the vehicle ablaze.
While officers were investigating that fire, a second vehicle fire was reported near Harrogate Court and Tenby Drive.
Police located a man matching the suspect's description, who was later identified as Aiden Logrande, 19, of Turnersville.
During the investigation, officers recovered a hatchet believed to have been used in the crimes.
Logrande has been charged with two counts of arson, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and multiple counts of criminal mischief.
Authorities said additional criminal mischief charges tied to recent vandalism incidents in the Washington Place and Bunker Hill condominium development were also filed.
Police are asking anyone with information, surveillance footage or home security video related to these incidents or other recent acts of criminal mischief to contact Detective Joseph Russo at 856-589-0330, ext. 1194.
