"King's Crusade is a 100% donation based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We help people who are indigent or have state insurance to find treatment if they're struggling with their addiction. We raise all of our money through donations to help with move-in fees for sober living houses so that they can further their recovery," said Co-Founder, Sue Harrison.
They host an annual dodgeball tournament for the recovery community, so they can connect with others who have similar experiences.
The organization is run by Sue Harrison, brother of King William Shaffer Jr, who passed away from an overdose.
Her goal is to make a difference in his honor for all in this community.
"I know the lives that we've touched and the ripple effect... I know that my brother is saving so many lives and that his legacy will live on because of that. I think the best thing about my work is just the connection with the people," said Harrison.
