Sprout Organics expands recall of baby food pouches in 28 states, including Pa. and NJ

Sprout Organics is expanding a recall of baby food pouches because of possible elevated lead levels.

It involves 3.5-ounce pouches of Sprout Organics "Sweet Potato, Apple and Spinach," according to the FDA.

The original voluntary recall involved just one lot.

Now, it has been expanded to other lots that are sold at Walgreens and independent retailers in dozens of states, including Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Other states include Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Massachusetts, Maine, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Wisconsin and Wyoming.



The products impacted have best-by dates of October 29 and 30, 2025, as well as December 4 and February 4, 2026.

No other Sprouts Organics products are affected and so far, no illnesses have been reported.
