DOWNINGTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- A Girl Scouts troop in Downingtown held a surprise tea party Sunday afternoon for a volunteer who has been with the organization for 50 years.

Nancy Thompson started as a troop leader for her daughters, and now helps to oversee more than 400 girls.
The Girl Scouts thanked her for her commitment with tea and dessert at the Downingtown United Methodist Church.
