Ever since 2006, the year Taylor Swift came out with her self-titled album that put her on the country music scene, people have noticed that Devlin, who grew up in the Philadelphia area, looks like the pop star.
"Yeah, it's been like my whole life, basically as long as I could remember. The first time that I remember getting a comment about it was from one of my aunts in like 2006. I remember I was in elementary school. It was like a long time ago," she says.
She actually is a musician who performs at the Jersey Shore. People ask her constantly, "Do you know you look like Taylor Swift?"
She insists she isn't trying to look like the superstar. As a musician, she was trying to develop her own identity, so being compared to Taylor used to bug her. Today, she shakes it off.
"I really do admire Taylor. I think she's an amazing songwriter. She has an incredible work ethic. I think she's great, just not what I'm going for. I do like wearing red lipstick, but I just think it looks nice on me," she says. "As I got older, I was like, 'OK, this is a very nice compliment, like, people are just being nice. They're being sweet. So now I take it. And I'm like, 'Oh, thank you so much. That's very nice of you.'"
Devlin says people who see it really see it, but some on social media disagree.
