It was swim time at the camp in Newark, New Jersey when the 13-year-old boy suffered a seizure in the pool.
The teen is autistic and non-verbal.
Thankfully, a friend was in the water with him and helped pull him from the pool.
The lifeguards then took over, performing CPR and rescue breaths for five cycles before the boy finally gasped.
"It's kind of scary when you're working with someone without a pulse, and then you get their pulse back and it's a huge sigh of relief," says Khayla Dixon-Hammond, a lifeguard at the camp.
Paramedics arrived on the scene and rushed the teen to the hospital.
He's expected to be okay.
