Teenager pulled from Delaware River dies

FISHTOWN (WPVI) -- A teenager has died after being pulled from the Delaware River in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia.

Police received the call around 5 p.m. Thursday about a person who went in the river near the 2400 block of Beech Street.

Crews were able to pull the victim, a 16-year-old male, from the river just before 6 p.m.

The teen was found below the Ben Franklin Bridge near Race Street in Penn's Landing.

He was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The name of the victim has not been released.
