Transformer explosion knocks out power to some in South Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A transformer explosion is causing issues in South Philadelphia Thursday morning.

It happened just after 4:30 a.m. at 4th and Jackson streets.

When crews arrived, they found wires on the ground and multiple homes without power.

Roughly 350 customers are without power as of 6:30 a.m. PECO estimates it will be restored by 7:30 a.m.
