Lots of people are heading down to the beach for the day or starting their long weekend a little early.

We know that it's a popular destination for the Labor Day Weekend.

So, if you're heading there, you'll have plenty of friends on the road.

AAA expects travel time to be up 57% along I-95.

From the pickleball courts, to the boardwalk, to the beach -- for so many people, there's nowhere else they'd rather wrap up summer vacation.

"We'll probably take a long walk on the beach. Maybe walk down to Atlantic City. We were just at the farmers market, which is always lovely and got some great things," said Margie Holber, from Media, Pennsylvania.

"Enjoy the beautiful sunshine sit by the pool, relax, read and try not to think about work," Simi Kaplin Baer, from Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania.

For many kids, they're trying not to think about what's to come next week.

Zach Moyer, from Haverford, Pennsylvania, said he's sad about summer being over and school starting again

"I'm sad for these guys. We had a great summer," added Ryan Moyer.

But some are trying to look on the bright side.

"I'm kind of sad. But I'm excited for fall. I'm a pumpkin girl," said Ashley Conover, from Absecon, New Jersey.

This begins "local summer" at the shore.

Business are hoping for a busy weekend for Labor Day and then hopefully good weather into the fall to keep the season going.
