A turkey drop tradition in Arkansas that is literally a "turkey drop" is angering animal activists.
A pilot flying above a parade in Yellville dropped six live turkeys as part of the town's Turkey Trot festival.

They dropped straight down, most glided to a landing as festival goers caught them.
But one of them died when it hit the ground.

The Arkansas Fish and Game Commission cannot stop it, because the turkeys are considered pets, not wild animals.
Some people sold shirts, condemning the celebration.
