PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. (WPVI) -- After 87 years of providing higher education, the University of Valley Forge in Chester County is closing.
In a statement posted Wednesday, university officials said they were "deeply sorry."
The university says it will suspend academic operations at the end of this summer semester.
The board of trustees made the difficult decision after many efforts to address the school's financial challenges.
The University, located in Phoenixville, will remain open and will keep essential personnel to support students, facilitate transitions and preserve academic records.
