Vigil held for missing Chester woman after car found in Del. river

Friends and family came together Thursday night in Chester, Pennsylvania, to honor Kortney Staples, who has been missing since July 11.

CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- Friends and family came together Thursday night to honor Kortney Staples.

She is the missing woman from Chester.

Police believe a body found inside a car pulled from the Delaware River is that of Kortney Staples, a 33-year-old woman who had been missing since July, authorities said.

Earlier this week, boaters found a car in the Delaware River, that matches the description of Staples' car.

She has not been seen since July 11.

Police have not officially confirmed whether the body found in the vehicle is Staples', but they believe it is her based on tattoos.

The medical examiner is working to identify the body and determine a cause of death.
