Officials have been able to turn the valve off in the area, but it's still unclear how many residents are impacted.

"Heartbroken. They were trying to find the shutoff and then it's unsafe now because you can't walk over there because the ground is going to fall down. We're going to have to move people around, put them in housing and take care of them. That's the first thing and then we'll worry about damages after," said Michael Moss, who is a landlord in the area.

Crews have cordoned off the intersection due to a sinkhole that opened up right below an SUV.

The area remains closed until further notice.

Crews have not said how long it will take to make repairs.
