It happened at 6:00 a.m. Tuesday in the northbound outer lanes at Sandyford Avenue, north of Cottman Avenue.

Water flooded the street, slowing traffic.
Philadelphia Water Department crews responded to the scene as police set up a detour and SEPTA re-routed buses that pass through the area.
The water department was able to shut off the valves supplying the ruptured 12-inch main shortly after 7:00 a.m.
No customers have been affected by the shutoff.
Repair work was set to begin later Tuesday morning.
The incident caused a large traffic backup on the northbound boulevard during the Tuesday morning rush hour.
