The idea is to bring a little light to one of the hardest moments in a parent's life.
The cart makes daily rounds, going from room to room, giving out free hot and cold drinks.
The reality is, most parents are unable to leave their child's side, but the coffee cart is there to help out.
The service is made up mostly of volunteers who devote their time serving up drinks and a glimmer of hope when patients and parents need it most.
The contents of the cart are generously donated by Wawa. Along with the community volunteers, both Wawa employees and even CHOP employees donate their time to run the cart.
Will Fitzgerald, who has been volunteering with the coffee cart for over a year says it is the highlight of his week and one of the most rewarding things he's ever done.
