Wedding industry gearing up for the Swift-Kelce era

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's love story is heading down the wedding aisle, and the wedding industry is already feeling the impact.

As buzz continues to build around their engagement, vendors and trend-watchers are preparing for a wave of influence from the celebrity couple.

Popular wedding website The Knot has already featured a nod to bride-to-be Swift on its homepage. And the $398 Ralph Lauren striped dress she wore in her engagement photos has already sold out.

From rings to flowers, Swift and Kelce's choices are expected to shape what couples want in the months ahead.

Sisters Stephanie and Michelle Finley of Finley Catering weighed in on what trends could emerge.

"I think it's gonna be a fairy-tale type of wedding, just because that's kind of her vibe. I could see her in a big princess dress," said Stephanie Finley.

For the overall color palette, the Finleys predict earthy tones, and maybe a "lavender haze."

"So I think for floral, she'll probably go whimsical, not your traditional whites," said Michelle Finley. "I think she'd probably add some color in there."

Whatever Swift chooses, it's likely to be a wedding wonderland straight out of anyone's wildest dreams.

"Whatever Taylor ends up doing is gonna impact our industry for the next 12 to 18 months," Stephanie said. "She's gonna be a trendsetter for our industry."

It all starts with Swift's engagement ring, which has a vintage vibe.

"Ninety to 95 percent of all jewelry is going to be yellow gold," said Philadelphia jeweler Steven Singer.

Singer knows firsthand how celebrity influence drives demand.

"We made a replica of the Princess Diana ring," he said.

Singer's version of Diana's iconic ring from 44 years ago remains a bestseller. Now, his master jewelers are working on a replica of Swift's ring.

"We found out Tuesday morning. They started working 10 minutes after," Singer said. "We'll have it in stock and ready to go in another day or two."

Meanwhile, Finley Catering - celebrating its 50th year in the wedding business - has a message for Swift: It has five venues in the Philadelphia area, and the Crystal Tea Room, which can hold up to 900 guests, would be the perfect spot for her to tie the knot right here at home.
