Twice-a-week-trash pickup begins in North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The city of Philadelphia is rolling out twice-a-week trash pickup as part of a plan to fight illegal dumping.

It began in parts of North Philadelphia on Monday.

The neighborhoods include Vine Street to Hunting Park Avenue and Broad Street to the Schuylkill River.

It also includes Vine Street to Glenwood Avenue from Broad Street to the Delaware River.

The program is expected to expand into even more neighborhoods across Philadelphia in the fall.
