Cristopher Corbi, 41, was charged Tuesday with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and multiple other offenses.
Kathryn Runner said she was driving on the Newtown Bypass around 6:40 p.m. when she and other drivers began passing a slow-moving vehicle. That's when she noticed something alarming.
"As I turned around, I just saw something shiny in the corner of my eye, so I looked over and I saw the barrel of the gun, and then my window popped and I saw the hole," Runner said.
After calling 911, Runner began following the vehicle to get a look at the license plate. But the situation escalated when the suspect turned onto a road in Middletown Township.
"He looks like he's going to go right, and then he slammed on the brakes and got out of the car and shot at me two more times," she said.
Runner, who suffered a gunshot wound to the hand, was still on the phone with emergency dispatchers during the shooting.
"I definitely was screaming at the 911 operator that he is shooting at me, and then I had my hand up and I thought I was actually hit here, because I felt my two fingers just go numb," she said.
A photo taken shortly afterward shows bullet holes in Runner's windshield. The suspect fled the scene, but police quickly tracked him down.
"Once they got the information and broadcast it on our regional response teams, our units located that vehicle on Route 532 and Stoopville Road and took him into custody," said Chief John Hearn of the Newtown Township Police Department.
Runner said she is relieved Corbi was arrested, but remains shaken and confused by the ordeal.
"I didn't do nothing. I had no road rage. I didn't honk at him, flip the bird, I didn't do anything to him," she said. "So, and what gets me is, there were a lot of cars that passed him, what made him choose me?"
Corbi is being held on 10% of $1 million bail.
