WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- A contractor was struck and killed by a tractor at a landfill in Wilmington, Delaware.
It happened around 12:30 Friday afternoon at Cherry Island Landfill on the 1700 block of East 12th Street.
Police say a male employee was backing up a tractor when he struck his coworker - identified as 42-year-old Jose Luis Garcia-Hernandez.
Garcia-Hernandez was standing behind the machinery at the time he was hit. He pronounced dead at the scene.
State police and OSHA are investigating.
