Pottstown police say a 58-year-old man from Lower Pottsgrove Twp. was hit by shrapnel, suffering injuries to his face and right eye.
That person had to be airlifted to Jefferson Hospital for treatment.
According to Pottstown police, the shooting stemmed from a domestic situation involving a 37-year-old man and his girlfriend over the weekend at their home in Lower Pottsgrove Twp.
As that man was fueling work trucks at the Wawa on Monday, police say he was attacked by his girlfriend's 19-year-old son and another person.
According to police, video shows the 37-year-old man moving away, pulling out a gun and firing a shot into the ground.

Shrapnel from that round ricocheted and struck the 58-year-old man as he walked across the parking lot.
The 37-year-old man called 911 and waited on the scene for officers to arrive, police say. He has a legal concealed carry permit, according to police.
The 19-year-old fled before officers arrived.
"Detectives are still reviewing video and interviewing witnesses. Detectives will also be working with the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office to determine what charges will be filed and who will be charged," the Pottstown Police Dept. said in a statement.
Police tape surrounded some gas pumps and vehicles. The Wawa was shut down for about an hour while police investigated.

Customers came to the store only to find it was temporarily closed.
"I wanted to stop and get some coffee and the doors were locked," said Pottstown resident Paul Anzulewicz.
"There's always shooting in Pottstown. It's worse than Philly now," said Wendy Rogers of Pottstown. "Like, two blocks up, there was a shooting the other week."
Wawa said it is cooperating with the investigation.
"The Wawa team has and will continue to work closely with authorities to help their investigation in any way possible," Wawa public relations manager Lori Bruce said in a statement. "The safety and security of our customers and associates is always our top priority."
