More than 16,000 Range Rover vehicles are being recalled due to defective seat belts.

The 2016-2017 Sport SUV models are impacted.

Officials say the driver's safety belt locking mechanism may not work correctly in a crash.

Parent company Land Rover will begin mailing information to owners on July 1st.
