It happened just after midnight on the 200 block of Bridge Street in Phoenixville, just steps from the historical Colonial Theater.

Officers responding to the scene were met with bystanders surrounding a man lying on the street suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police identified the victim as a 25-year-old man from Quakertown. He was shot one time in the hip and was taken to Phoenixville Hospital.

Due to the severity of his injury, he was then transferred to the Paoli Hospital trauma center where he is listed in critical condition.

Witnesses told police that the suspect fled the scene.

A short time after the shooting, the shooting suspect called 911 and turned himself in. The suspect was identified as 26-year-old Savelen Frazier-Sallad of Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.

Police met Frazier-Sallad on the 200 block of Church Street where he was taken into custody without incident. Police recovered his weapon, a .40 caliber pistol.

Investigators reviewed surveillance and cell phone video to determine what led to the shooting.

It was determined that the shooting started out as an argument inside PJ Ryan's Pub located at 233 Bridge Street.

Both Frazier-Sallad and the shooting victim were ejected from the bar by staff after a fight broke out.

As they were walking outside, the video captured Frazier-Sallad pulling out his gun and shooting the 25-year-old victim.

"Before that, it was just a normal night with everyone just hanging out," said Luke Burkett, a witness to the shooting. "Everyone ran towards them to help them out."

Another cellphone video of the incident captured the moments leading up to the shooting.
Frazier-Sallad was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and related offenses. He was taken to Chester County Prison for arraignment early Saturday morning.

Bridge Street remained closed off on Saturday as many say they are stunned over the recent violence.

"People are like, 'What's going on?' They might not believe something like that would've happened," said Giorgio Bellavia.
