It happened around 7 p.m. near the 2100 block of Jackson Street.
Police said 15-year-old Omar Wade was shot in the head and left thigh. He was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
The shooting also injured an 18-year-old man. He was rushed to the hospital after being shot in the lower back. He is currently listed in critical condition, said police.
A witness to the shooting says he initially wrote it off as fireworks before getting a look at the unfolding chaos.

"I see somebody has a gun, I think one or two, but I see one guy has a gun for sure," recalled resident Adam Ismail.
Ismail said he watched as one of the teens collapsed.
"The guy falls down and police like one minute later stop and they get him and they go," said Ismail.
No arrests have been made.
"We're still canvassing the area. We are looking for witnesses. We are also looking for video and doing what we can and really figure out why this happened tonight," said Commissioner Danielle Outlaw.
