Teen stabbed outside West Philadelphia high school
The school was placed on a brief lockdown while police investigated.
Police say this started as students were having an event in the field across the street.
According to school district officials, the teen got into an altercation with two suspects. One of them, according to the district, is a current Parkway West student. The other suspect is not a student.
Detectives say the incident moved out into Aspen Street and that's when the 17-year-old victim was stabbed. He ran back into the school for help.
As a result, the principal put the building on lockdown.
"The announcement came on and at first it was just a lockdown and everything will be fine," recalled student Aidan Cesar Frishman.
But then the student says a second announcement was made that terrified everyone.
"The announcement came on and some people were panicking, and were saying it's a full-scale lockdown yadda, yadda, yadda. It was very scary," added Cesar Frishman.
No arrests have been made in the case.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 215-686-TIPS.
