The crime, reported Sunday morning, happened in the parking lot of Redding Residence Hall on Haines Street, police said.

Students Action News spoke with said they never walk alone at night and never get into an Uber or Lyft by themselves.
Students said Main Street is their biggest safety concern late at night.
"I always try to ride with someone else, a friend or even acquaintance just cause it's a lot more safe," said Anna Gallo a student.
Students were alerted by text and email about the investigation into the sexual assault in an Uber vehicle on campus via the University's alert system.
"It's definitely a little concerning to females and girls on our campus and stuff like that," said Rory Bateman.

Gallo said her mom is on her Uber account with her, so she can track her rides and gets a notification when she arrives to her destination.
Police have not provided any information on the victim, or a possible suspect.
Main Street is lined with bars and restaurants. It's a spot filled with students, especially late at night often waiting to be picked up using a ride-sharing service.
Uber says at this time, they haven't heard from police about this investigation, and they haven't been able to connect a reported trip within the timeframe of the sexual assault incident.
