Chunks of ice crash through roof in Southern California

Tuesday, November 7, 2017
Chunks of ice crashed through the roof of a house in Southern California.

Brandon Blanch said the ice ripped a hole through his roof, busted through the ceiling, and landed in a bathtub in an upstairs bedroom.

No one was hurt.

Blanch was glad his 20-year-old daughter was not home at the time.

"Absolutely lucky because she had actually gone out and told my wife, 'Hey when I get home late, I'm gonna clean the bathroom,'" Blanch said.

FAA investigators plan to visit the home to see if the ice fell from an airplane passing overhead.
