Rescuers airlifted the man to safety after he called 911 and led them to his location.
The man told the sheriff's office he was trying to hide from a mountain lion which he thought was stalking him.
As he crawled into the hole, one of the rocks fell over the opening, trapping him inside.
Sheriffs learned the man was wanted for a probation violation and had run from the police multiple times.
He is being treated at the hospital.
