Police in San Francisco say the ride-sharing vehicle got stuck on the stairs outside a grocery store on Monday.
A tow truck tried to pull the car from the steps, but the cable broke.
There were several passengers inside, but no one was hurt.
Uber is looking into the incident. It's unclear if the driver will be cited.
