Toms River man killed in snowboarding accident in Vermont

KILLINGTON, Vt. (WPVI) -- Vermont State Police say a 26-year-old man from Toms River, New Jersey, was killed in a snowboarding accident at Killington Mountain.

The incident happened at 10:25 a.m. Saturday.

Police say James Meyers was snowboarding with friends when he left the trail they were on and collided with a tree.

He was rushed to Rutland Regional Medical Center where he died of his injuries.

Police say Meyers was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

No other injuries were reported.
