'Senior to Senior': Students make special scrapbooks for residents of retirement community

FORT WASHINGTON, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- Unlikely friendships turn into unforgettable keepsakes when Upper Dublin High School students partner up with residents at Fort Washington Estates.

It's called the 'Senior to Senior' program.

It started several years ago as a project within a class called, 'The Art of the Story.'

Through the partnership, students are paired up with seniors and conduct interviews to learn about their lives.

Afterward, the students create personalized scrapbooks to give to the seniors. Each contains excerpts about the seniors' lives and lessons the students derived from them.

The team at Fort Washington Estates, part of the Acts Retirement-Life Communities, hopes to keep the partnership going for many years.

Watch the video above to see the heartwarming moment when students presented their books to the seniors.
