Reve is a classic French bistro

Updated 2 hours ago
LAFAYETTE, Calif. -- Classic sweetbread to savory salmon, Reve serves up traditional French Bistro fare while you enjoy the elegant decor and atmosphere. Chef Paul Magulecugy takes care of his kitchen with intensity and expertise. His Wife, Laura Magu, takes care of the rest. As a family, they create Michelin-star excellence at Reve.

"I think we are kind of unique in the restaurant world, especially in the Bay Area. We don't have investors, so the decisions are all ours. We are a family business. We have three teenage daughters, and there are days when maybe they are supposed to go to a party, we have a seventeen-year-old. A few weeks ago, we had to call her and say were sorry, we need you in the kitchen, one of the cooks called out sick," said Laura Magu, Co-Owner, Reve.

Family-owned and operated, the small business shines because of the food that comes out of Paul's kitchen and the long hours that the family puts in. Reve emphasizes fresh ingredients to accompany the classic creations. People come from all over the Bay Area for the sweetbread, an organ meat considered to be a delicacy and rare to find on a menu. For their efforts, Paul and Reve have received a plethora of awards and are Michelin Star rated for five years running.

"As a chef, I don't work to get recognition. I just work cause its a passion to provide the best food and the best fresh ingredients possible," said Paul Magulecugy, Co-Owner, Reve.

The menu at Reve changes with the seasonal ingredients available, but also has some staple choices. The deserts are as beautiful as they are decadent and delicious. This small family-owned bistro leaves a huge impact on the taste buds.
