OCEAN CITY, New Jersey (WPVI) -- One moment, she was a talented girl from Marlton, New Jersey singing in her bedroom.

The next, she was a viral internet sensation.

Christina Grimmie's voice uplifted an entire generation, cultivating a fanbase of millions across the world.

She was among the first self-made internet stars, finding success by uploading songs to YouTube in the late 2000s and early 2010s.

Then, Grimmie's light burned brighter with a dazzling audition on The Voice. She parlayed her success in the singing competition into an album, a film appearance, and tours.

Yet, her reaction to the glitz and glamor was, "All is Vanity."

Grimmie was appearing on tour on June 10, 2016, when she was shot and killed. She was 22 years old.

In her memory, her family created the Christina Grimmie Foundation. With it, they provide grants to support the families of victims of gun violence.

Grimmie's mother, Tina, passed away in 2018 after a long battle with breast cancer. She shares a resting place with her daughter in Berlin, New Jersey.

In the present day, the family continues sharing videos, photos, and even new music from Grimmie on social media. A vibrant community of fans keeps the echoes of her legacy reverberating.

In June 2026, the 10th anniversary of her passing will be commemorated with a weekend full of events. 'GrimmieFest' will feature three days of activities.

Friday, June 5, an afternoon of food and entertainment will be hosted at DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Mt. Laurel. DJ Bishop will play Grimmie's music and fans will be quizzed on trivia. There will also be a gallery of personal items, fashion pieces, and more related to her journey.

Saturday, June 6, a benefit concert will be performed by The Living Tombstone at the Franklin Music Hall in Philadelphia. Grimmie's brother, Marcus, is a member of the popular electronic rock band.

Sunday, June 7, the group plans to take a trip to the boardwalk in Ocean City, New Jersey. There, Grimmie and her mother have a bench dedicated in their names.
