VOORHEES TOWNSHIP, N.J. (WPVI) -- Two good friends from South Jersey have an incredible bond after one of them had a medical crisis during their middle school gym class.

While the two eighth graders were playing basketball at Voorhees Middle School this week, Gavin Haegele noticed his classmate, Dylan Geller, didn't seem right.

So he helped get Dylan to a chair and then ran to get the school nurse.

It turns out Dylan was having a seizure, and Gavin was the first to notice something was wrong.

Luckily, Dylan was not injured.

"He's a hero. If he wasn't there, I could've fell and hit my head really hard," Dylan said.

"It was nice that I could at least I could do something for him, not that I wouldn't have anyway. Nobody deserves to go through it, especially Dylan. It was out of his control," Gavin said.

Dylan's mom says she is incredibly grateful and reached out to Gavin's parents to thank them for their son's actions.
