Fire prompts evacuation at Germantown apartment building

At least two dozen residents were evacuated Wednesday night during an apartment fire in the Germantown section of Philadelphia.

GERMANTOWN (WPVI) -- At least two dozen residents were evacuated Wednesday night during an apartment fire in the Germantown section of Philadelphia.

It happened around 9 p.m. at Hamill Mill Apartments, located along the 200 block of East Church Lane.

Upon arrival, fire crews reported smoke showing from the building.

The building was evacuated and, within 30 minutes, the fire was placed under control, officials say.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
