Arrest in Philadelphia's first murder of 2008

Police arrested a man for the first homicide in Philadelphia in 2008.

Anthony Pander, 21, is charged with murder, burglary and criminal trespass. He was set to be arraigned Wednesday.

The victim, Andreas Gabranidis, 55, was found on the sidewalk about 3 a.m. on New Year's Day on the 2000 block of 67th Street. He died at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Police say Gabranidis was stabbed outside of his home during a fight that started on the front steps.
