Former Tropicana President Rehired

She claimed it stiffed her on a nearly half-million dollar severance package when new owners took over and replaced her.

But now, for $225 an hour, she'll help get it ready to be sold by the end of April.

Popielarski, who ran the Tropicana for 13 years, was one of three consultants the state Casino Control Commission hired today to help manage the Tropicana until it can be sold.

Its former owners, Columbia Sussex Corporation, were stripped of their casino license last month after less than a year of operation.

And after that happened, Popielarski was content to let her lawsuit drop.
