Rap promoter or drug kingpin?

Federal prosecutors say a rap music video about a drug kingpin named "Ace Capone" represents a brazen case of art imitating life. But Philadelphia rap promoter Alton Coles says he was merely acting when he played the feared drug lord in his video.

Prosecutors say Coles laundered his cocaine profits through his record company, then used it for a lavish lifestyle.

Defense attorney Christopher Warren says Coles brought in as much as $10,000 a week in cash through a legitimate business. He organized popular dance parties at Philadelphia nightclubs that attracted pro athletes and local celebrities. He says any discussion of drugs on wiretaps was simply because Coles grew up in a drug culture and was making a movie about it.
