A member of the Bloods street gang who was cooperating with authorities is hospitalized after being beaten unconscious at the Camden County jail. Authorities say the attack is under investigation.

Jacquelyn Williams tells The Courier-Post of Cherry Hill her son, Michael Coombs, was the victim and a member of the gang.

Williams says the 19-year-old was awaiting sentencing after he pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter. Williams says her son was helping police with investigations involving other Bloods.

His mother says Coombs is still unconscious, days after Monday's attack.
