Students were dismissed early from Taggart Elementary school on Monday.

Students were dismissed from Taggart Elementary school because of a mishap during a fuel oil delivery this morning.

It happened around 8:45 a.m. at the school at 4th and Porter streets.

Administrators said the oil spill sent fumes throughout the building. All the students were sent to the Bok High School, which is nearby.

The students were going to be bused back to Taggart at their regular dismissal time to go home from there.

Officials said a pump malfunction in the basement caused the spill.
