Sentencing for former Mayor Robert Levy has been postponed until April 18. Levy had been due to be sentenced on Friday in U.S. District Court in Camden for lying about his Vietnam War service in order to fatten his military benefits check.

Levy, 60, could be sentenced to as many as five years in prison.

Federal sentencing guidelines call for a term of up to six months in prison. But Levy's lawyer told The Press of Atlantic City that probation is more likely.

Levy will have to repay about $25,000 in benefits he illegally received.
