Child dies after minivan strikes bus

Authorities say a 3-year-old boy was killed when a van driven by his mother collided with a school bus. Police say the crash occurred just after 3 p.m. Tuesday at an intersection where there is no stop sign or traffic light.

The child, who was riding with his mother, a 5-year-old sister and his twin brother, was thrown from the vehicle on impact. He died from his injuries at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly.

The other family members were taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden. there was no immediate word on their condition.

Police say there were no injuries reported on the Pemberton Township School District bus, which was carrying 21 elementary-age students.
