Man gets 29 yrs in killing of stepdaughter
NEW YORK (AP) - April 3, 2008 Cesar Rodriguez was convicted of manslaughter and other counts
last month in connection with the death of 7-year-old Nixzmary
(NIX-mair-ee) Brown. She was bound to a chair, starved and forced
to urinate in a litter box before she was killed.
The 29-year-old Rodriguez told the court Thursday that he loved
Nixzmary and that he was accused of something he didn't do.
He received the maximum 25 years on manslaughter, and four more
years for the lesser counts.
