Police say surveillance video from the night of a dance at North Penn High School has led them to four teenagers accused of stealing 40 laptop computers from the Lansdale school.

Prosecutors say an 18-year-old senior awaits a June 5 preliminary hearing on theft by unlawful taking and other charges.

Principal Burt Hynes says the other three are sophomores, a 16-year-old and two 15-year-olds. They face charges including burglary, theft, and receiving stolen property. Hynes says he'll recommend they be expelled.

Hynes says video from the night of the April 4 ROTC dance shows two boys putting eight laptops in a duffel bag and hiding it in a trash can in a courtyard. Police say one called the 18-year-old, and they loaded the computers into a car and left. Police say 30 laptops were seized from a basement where the 18-year-old stored them.
