The company's weather center is located in State College, Pennsylvania, just across town from Penn State where many of the firm's employees received their meteorology degrees. In fact, it's interesting to note that the company's founders came from Penn State.
I've had the pleasure of visiting this amazing building on several occasions over the years. It's an impressive headquarters---kind of a meteorologist's playground. The building and its grounds are dotted with an array of satellite dishes. The main forecasting center is an enormous, three-story-tall space, not unlike something you'd expect to see at NASA. The floor is covered with rows of forecast stations and meteorologists, all of them busy analyzing worldwide weather patterns around-the-clock.
