A 52-year-old man has filed a lawsuit alleging that he was sexually abused as a child by a priest already convicted of molestation. The plaintiff in the lawsuit in Kent County on Friday is named only as "John Doe" to protect his identity. The defendants are the Diocese of Wilmington and St. Elizabeth's church in Wilmington.

The plaintiff alleges that he was abused more than 100 times by the Rev. Francis DeLuca in the 1960s, when church officials already knew that DeLuca had molested other children. According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff has been treated for decades for depression, panic disorder and compulsive disorders stemming from his abuse.

A similar John Doe lawsuit was filed last month against the 77-year-old DeLuca, who was sentenced by a New York judge last year to 60 days in jail for repeatedly molesting his 18-year-old grandnephew.
