U.S. Airways announces more cutbacks

TEMPE, AZ - June 12, 2008 During today's annual shareholders meeting, airline executives said the rising cost of fuel is draining revenues.

In addition to the cutbacks, U.S. Airways will now charge $15 for the first piece of checked luggage, and begin charging $2 for in-flight soft drinks and bottled water.

Last month, the airline began charging an extra $5 for passengers who request a window or aisle seat.
