Fishermen stuck in the bay overnight

STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - June 20, 2008 Kevin Rist, of Chalfont, Pa., his brother Gregory, and his nephew Matthew clung to a lifejacket, seat cushion and empty cooler after the 16-foot craft went under in a storm Tuesday.

Eventually they were swept onto a sandbar, where they could stand for a few hours.

They decided their best shot was to head toward a channel marking buoy and wait for a boat to pass by.

Fisherman Richard Nagy heard their yells for help and took them to Great Bay Marina on Wednesday.

Kevin Rist tells The Press of Atlantic City the fishing "wasn't really worth the aggravation."
